ASSERTION (A):Energy is required to carry out different life processes.
REASON(R): Energy is obtained in the form of ATP in the mitochondria.
IS REASON THE CORRECT EXPLANATION OF ASSERTION?

Dear student, Both Assertion and Reason are correct but reason is not a correct explanation of assertion. This is because in reason we are supposed to explain the assertion that is -why is energy required to carry different life processes?. We do not need to explain where this energy is produced. So the correct reason should be that energy is required for breaking and building of molecules and to transport them across the plasma membrane or the reason could be any other use of energy. Thanks and Regards
