Assertion: Euglena cannot be classified on the basis of two kingdom system.
Reason: Euglena is a plant due to presence of chlorophyll.
a) If both Assertion and Reason are true and Reason is the correct explanation of Assertion.
(b) If both Assertion and Reason are true but Reason is not the correct explanation of Assertion.
(c) If Assertion is true but Reason is false.
(d) If both Assertion and Reason are false.

Dear student,

Ans. Assertion is true but Reason is false.

Euglena possesses chloroplast for synthesizing food which is a characteristic of plant but it does not possess cellulosic cell wall similar to plants.
Euglena possesses flagella for movement and feeds like animal which are the characteristics of animals. Euglena can move but plants cannot.
Euglena is placed under animals in the Kingdom Protista. It has all characteristics of unicellular animal but also show plant like characters like it has chlorophyll which can be used to synthesize food particles. That’s why euglena is called as a dual organism and it is a  connecting link between plants and animals.
