Protists are the group of organisms which includes different types of unicellular or multicellular organisms that resembles either with animal cells or plant cell or fungi. The Protists that resemble animal cells are Protozoa. Algae are plant like Protists. Slime molds are saprophytic protests that resemble fungi. For this reason, Protists are known to form link between plants, animals and fungi. 

Protists reproduces by both asexual reproduction (binary fission, multiple fission) and sexual reproduction. 

In binary fission, the parent cell divides to produce almost two equal sized daughter cells. ​

In muliple fission, the parent cell divides ​to produce many equal sized daughter cells. 
 

In sexual reproduction, the protista produce gametes which fuse to produce zygote. The zygote then develops into new organism.
