Atul goes to the railway station by a cycle rickshaw and returns home by a cab in 34 minutes. If he can travel both ways by cycle rickshaw in 52 minutes, then how long will it take him to travel both ways by cab?

Let the time taken by cycle rikshaw for one way is R and time taken by cab for one way is C.
According to the parenthesis;
R + C = 34.......(i)
and R + R = 52
$\Rightarrow$2R = 52
So, R = 26
Then from (i) we have; C = 34 - R = 34 - 26 = 8
So, time taken by cab for one way is 8 minutes.
Then, time taken by cab to travel both ways = $8\times 2$ = 16 minutes
