According to your question collision will take place than the string will become vertical at the time of collision .Than the
force acting on any ball A or C is in the vertical direction in the form of tension of the thread and the gravitational force .
So acceleration along the surface at the time of collision is zero.So tension in the thread cannot be defined athis position from the given osition.
