benzene is a covalent molecule ...then why does it come under molecular solids and not covalent solids

A covalent solid is a solid that consists of atoms held together by covalent bonds to form  large networks or chains.Example: diamond, graphite etc.

Whereas, molecular solid is a solid which consists of atoms or molecules held together by intermolecular forces such as dipole-dipole forces, London dispersion forces, hydrogen bonds and covalent bonds.Example: solid carbondioxide, benzene etc. Moreover, benzene exists as molecule, therefore it is a molecular solid.
