a. Throughout the poem, the poet shows the hopeless situation of slum children. However, in the last stanza, he asserts that there is still hope for the children. He believes that with proper education they can create history. 
b. The poet wants to lead the children to a path of education and knowledge away from the paths of ignorance in the slum.
c. It means that the poet suggests them to read as much as possible.
