Brief character sketch of the king of lilliput

Dear Student,
Given below is the answer to your question.

The portrait of the emperor of Lilliput is a satire on the autocratic rule a expression of political power in England. Despite having a monarchical rule over Lilliput, he does not come up as a strong ruler. Being vulnerable to manipulation he is easily influenced by his officials, Skyresh Bolgolam and Flimnap. He is an autocratic ruler with the lust to extend his power over other dominions. Gulliver’s denial to assist him in acquiring the neighbouring lands makes him hate Gulliver. An active political figure, he spends a great fortune on Gulliver by being magnificently hospitable. This hospitality is seen with contempt later in the novel as he employs Gulliver to full his own political motives.
