Calculate the dimensions of Force & Impulse in terms of velocity, density & frequency as fundamental units.

Dear student,
Dimension of the force :
F = [M1L1T-2]

Dimension of force in terms of velocity(v) , density(d) and frequency(f) :

F = [vadbfc]Dimension of velocity : [M0L1T-1]                          density: [M1L-3T0]                       frequency : [M0L0T-1]therefore [M1L1T-2] = [M0L1T-1]a[M1L-3T0]b[M0L0T-1]On solving , we geta=4 ,   b=1,   c=-2 thereforeF = [v4d1f-2]

Impulse is defined as the change in momentum , dimension is :

I = [M1L1T-1]I = [vadbfc]

similarly we can solve for a,b,c and we get
a=4,  b= 1,  c=-3
I = [v4d1f-3]
