Calculate the % of calcium in a 55% pure sample of calcium carbonate ( answer : 6.6%. Pls tell the solution )

Dear Student

I request you to kindly check the question. It is be
Calculate the percentage of carbon in a 55% pure sample of calcium carbonate.
percentage of carbon in the sample is 6.6%.
percentage of calcium in the sample is 22 %.

Molecular weight of calcium carbonate = (40 + 12 +3 × 16) = 100g

Now, pure calcium carbonate (100 %) weighs 100g

It implies that 55 % pure sample weighs 55 g.

Now, you can proceed with the rest of the calculation as follows:
Percentage of carbon in 100 % pure CaCO = 12/100 × 100 = 12 %
Percentage of carbon in 55% pure CaCO3  = 55/100 x 12 = 6.6%
