Can a plant produce oxygen during night?

Dear student,
Yes, a plant can produce oxygen during the night by performing a type of photosynthetic pathway called as CAM which stands for Crassulacean Acid Metabolism. Some plants like peepal are the CAM plants which take carbon dioxide during the night and thus produce oxygen at night by performing this metabolism. But, the amount of oxygen released is very less as compared to other plants like C3 and C4 plants.

Pls find the answer below:

Some plants such as Peepal tree can uptake CO{-2} during the night as well because of their ability to perform a type of photosynthesis called Crassulacean Acid Metabolism (CAM). However, it is not true that they release large amounts of oxygen during thenight.
Hope it helps..!!!
