Can anyone answer this???
Mugabe took several violent steps to remain President of Zimbabwe. Some of them were
1. In 2007, he had opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai arrested and beaten. Another member of the Movement for Democratic Change, the main opposition organization, was killed.
2. In the 2008 presidential elections, Mugabe launched a campaign of violence and coercion against opposition leaders and the people. This was particularly so after he lost the first round of election.
3. He had over a hundred election officials arrested.
4. He won the decisive second round of election but only because the opposition had pulled out of the election in protest against the violence and intimidation that had been launched by Mugabe.
