Can anyone explain Cathode Ray Tube experiment.

Dear Student,...Thomson discovered the electron by experimenting with a Crookes, or cathode ray, tube. He demonstrated that cathode rays were negatively charged. In addition, he also studied positively charged particles in neon gas.... Regards.
