Dear Student,

Principal ,P = Rs. 3000Amount , A = Rs. 3993Time, n= 3 years Let the rate of interest be r % p.a..When interest is compounded annually:A = P1+r100n3993 = 30001+r100339933000 = 100+r100313311000 =  100+r100311103 =  100+r1003Since, exponents are the same, we can compare the bases:1110 = 100+r10011×10010 = 100 + r110 = 100 + rr = 110 - 100r = 10Hence, rate of interest = 10% p.a.
