can corrosion of iron be minimized by forming a contact with another meta with a higher reduction potential?

Dear Student,

Corrosion of iron can be minimised by coating a layer of another metal having more negative reduction potential as compared to that of iron. Metal layer coated over iron undergo oxidation more readily and results in the formation of thin layer of its oxide over iron which protects iron from the corrosion.
For example : The iron object is coated in a thin layer of zinc to prevent corrosion

in corrosion Fe get oxidised to Fe+2 so we need to prevent that ,and it can be done by coating metal which is having negative reduction potential value,so that metal which is coated  get oxidised and iron is reduced.(metal which has negative potential value get oxidises)
