Here speed will be considered as angular velocity as they are talking about angle (105 rpm) Given : v (angular velocity) α \frac{1}{diameter (d)} \Rightarrow v = \frac{k}{d} \Rightarrow vd = k, where k is a constant \Rightarrow v_{1} d_{1} = k = v_{2} d_{2} \Rightarrow 105 \times 8 = v_{2} \times 12 \Rightarrow v_{2} = \frac{105 \times 8}{12} \Rightarrow v_{2} = 70 So, larger pulley is revolving at the rate of 70 rpm . Note : v_{1} = angular velocity of smaller pulley . d_{1} = diameter of smaller pulley . v_{2} = angular velocity of larger pulley . d_{2} = diameter of larger pulley .
