Can someone pls explain the lesson "Topi Shukla" for me in english?

topi was a hindu guy who had a close friend  irfan who was a muslim and topi used to like irfan's grandmother . irfan's granmother was a daughter of a realstates officer. she loved being in lucknow as she used to get various things to eat like ghee curd milk etc. but as she married a malvi(muslim) she cnt eat all these there.irfan.'s mother used to like topi a lot she used to love them both equally.topi always wanted to exchange irfan's grandmother as she used to be very sweet to him and tell hom various tales...and ask about her mom and all. When she dies...he feels upset and things as if his own granmother died..later on irfan' father gets transfer and he leaves topi and goes. that day 10th october becomes the most sadddest day of topi'life. Topi failed twice because once ,whenver he used to sit for studying some one or the other used to give him some work wch cannot be given to servants and next year he fails because of  some kind of fever. finally at 3rd time he gets passed. and forver no one could take irfan's place in topi 's life..irfan played a major role in his childhood.

टोपी शुक्ला दो अलग-अलग धर्मों से जुड़े बच्चों और एक बच्चे व एक बुढ़ी दादी के बीच स्नेह की कहानी है। इस कहानी के माध्यम से लेखक मित्रता से बने रिश्ते व प्रेम से बने रिश्ते की सार्थकता को प्रस्तुत करता है। वह समाज के आगे उदाहरण पेश करता है की मित्रता कभी धर्म व जाति की गुलाम नहीं होती अपितु वह प्रेम, आपसी स्नेह व समझ का प्रतीक होती है। बालमन किसी स्वार्थ या हिसाब से चलायमान नहीं होता। वृद्धमन की भी ऐसी ही स्थिति होती है। टोपी इस कहानी का मुख्य पात्र है। उसके पिता जाने-माने डाक्टर हैं। उसका परिवार भरा-पूरा है। उसके घर में किसी भी चीज की कमी नहीं है परन्तु एक अज्ञात प्रेम उसे इफ्फन के घर की ओर खींच ले जाता है। इफ़्फन के घर में उसकी दादी द्वारा मिले प्रेम ने उसके अंदर प्रेम की वह कमी पूरी कर दी जो उसके घर से उसे कभी नहीं मिली। टोपी की स्वयं की भी दादी है परंतु वह उनमें सदैव इफ़्फन की दादी को ही खोजता रहता है। इफ़्फन की दादी के मृत्यु उसे स्वयं के किसी अपने के मृत्यु से उपजे दुख के समान लगती है। इफ़्फन से उसकी मित्रता धर्म को भी बीच में आने नहीं देती है। इफ़्फन के चले जाने के बाद उसका बालमन उसी स्नेह को तलाशता रहता है। जो उसे फिर नहीं मिलता।
