Can u mention the hormones of hypothalamus and their functions?
Hypothalamus secrete following hormones:
1. Thyrotropin releasing hormone (TRH):- it stimulates the release of two hormones from anterior pituitary which are thyroid stimulating hormone and prolactin.
2. Gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH):- it also stimulates the release of two hormones from anterior pituitary which are follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH).
3. Growth hormone releasing hormone (GHRH):- it stimulate the release of growth hormones.
4. Corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH):- it stimulate the release of adrenocorticotropic hormone.
5. Somatostatin:- it inhibit the release of pituitary hormones.
6. Dopamine:- it function as a neurotransmitter.
