can we store cuso4 solution in an iron vessel??

Copper sulphate solution cannot be stored in an iron vessel. This is because iron is more reactive than copper, and so is placed above copper in the reactivity series of metals. Thus, iron will displace copper from its salt and instead form ferrous sulphate. The copper metal will be deposited as a reddish brown residue. Following is the chemical equation for the reaction

 Fe (s) + CuSO4 (aq) → FeSO4 (aq) + Cu (s)

Iron is above copper in electrochemical series and thus more electropositive than copper .So,iron displaces copper from copper sulphate solution.  This liberated copper appers in the form of a red precipitate.

                          Fe+CuSo4_______FeSo4+ Cu
