Can we use an ELASTIC MEASURING TAPE for accurate measurement of distances? list some of the difficulties you might face in using such a measuring tape.

An elastic measuring tape is stretchable. It cannot be used to measure distances because the length of the tape may change on stretching. As a result, the measured length would not be correct.

If you measure the length of an object twice using an elastic tape, then you may get different values of the same length each time. This is because elastic tapes are stretchable.

Elastic tape cannot be used to measure distance because it increases in length when stretched and reduces in size when not stretched. while telling the measurement taken with an elastic tape, we have to tell whether that tape was stretched on taking measurement and how much, so this is very much difficult.
