Can you explain the Davission and Germer Experiment(interferance) in more simpler way?

The Davisson and Germer experiment was used to prove that electrons or particles in general had matter-wave duality or behaved as both matter and waves. This experiment verified the wave properties of matter by showing that a beam of electrons is diffracted by a crystal at an angle dependent upon the velocity of the electrons.

Davisson and Germer fired electrons at a piece of nickel crystal and found that electrons get diffracted, forming an interference pattern.

Thus, they were able to support De Broglie's hypothesis that electrons had wave properties.
