2.  Dynasty - In the feudal and monarchial rule, dynasty refers to the line of rulers from one single family.  Example : Mauryan dynasty, Gupta dynasty

3.  Pataliputra - The most important thing about Pataliputra is that it was connected with Taxila through the royal highway and other roads linked to different parts of the country.This communication system helped in trade.

4.  Megasthenes - Megasthenes was an Ambassador who was sent to the court of Chandragupta Maurya by the Greek ruler, Seleucas Niketar.

An empire is a political construct in which one state dominates over another state, or a series of states. At its heart, an empire is ruled by an emperor, even though many states in history without an emperor at their head are called "empires". At its core, an empire is the domination of one state by another.

Dynasty  
Ancient Egypt, also had dynasties. They were families who often ruled for a considerable number of years and did impressive thing  such as building pyramids during their rule.During these periods, power passed from one dynasty to another. A dynasty ruled until it was overthrown or there were no heirs left to rule.

Pataliputra served as the capital of the Haryanka dynasty and the Shishunaga dynasty of Magadha. Pataliputra served as the capital of the Nanda Empire. Pataliputra served as the capital of the Maurya Empire. Pataliputra served as the capital of the Shunga Empire.
