Can you explain what is polarization in a simple way?

in simple light the electric field vibrates in all the directions perpendicular to the direction of propagation of light  while in polarized light it vibrates only in one direction.

shown above is oridinary light as electric vectors are vibrating perpendicular to the direction of light in all directions.
 

shown below is polarised light as in it electric vector vibrate only in one direction perpendicular to direction of propagation of light.
