Can you just explain it

Dear student,
Please find below the solution to the asked query

Water percolation rate of the soil refers to the rate of the movement of water through the soil as it passes through the small holes or spaces between the particles of the soil. The rate of percolation is different for different types of soil.

It is calculated using the following formula.

Percolation rate = Amount of water (ml) / Percolation time (min)

It is important to determine percolation rate of soils. Soil with high percolation rate will show a quick movement of water through its spaces while soil with poor percolation rate (water takes time to exit soil) will hold the water for a long time which could be harmful to plants.
