Can you pls explain prism and its types?

Prism is a polyhedron, this means that the cross section is always a polygon. All the sides are flat and it has the same cross section throughout its length. Prisms are distinguished based upon the shape of the cross sectional area.

So, the different types of prisms are regular, irregular, right, oblique, parallelepipeds, cuboid, triangular, quadrangular, pentagonal and hexagonal.

A prism is a solid that has two faces that areparallelandcongruent. These are called thebasesof the prism. If you take any cross section of a prism parallel to those bases by making a cut through it parallel to the bases, the cross section will look just like the bases.

The different types of prism are Triangular Prism, Square Prism, Rectangular Prism, etc.

Square Prism Cross-section of square prism.

Triangular Prism Cross-section of Triangular Prism

Pentagonal Prism Cross - section of Pentagonal Prism
