CH3NH2 is a stronger base than CH3OH. why?

Base is one which is having high tendency to donate  electrons. Strong base means it is electron rich and also have tendency to abstract the proton. Both CH3NH2 and CH3OH are electron rich species as they have lone pair of electrons on Oxygen and Nitrogen atom. The electronegativity of Oxygen is more than that of Nitrogen. Electronegativity means tendency to attract the shared pair of electrons towards itself. As Oxygen is more electronegative means it will not give its electrons easily while nitrogen is less electronegative means it can give its electron easily. Higher is the tendency to give electron stronger is the base. CH3NH2 is stronger base than CH3OH.

becoz oxygen is more electronegative and it does not easily allow donation of its lone pair as compared to that of nitrogen
