Character sketch of durai

Dear student,

The durai comes across as a vain man who is used to getting his way through the incident of his wanting to hunt a tiger in Pratibandapuram. In keeping with his vow, the Maharaja had out rightly denied even his desire to hunt down a tiger. The durai’s sole aim was to get his photograph clicked with a tiger's corpse and a gun over his shoulders. This led to his wrath and the Maharaja almost losing his kingdom. So to pacify the durai, the Maharaja had to readily send fifty diamond rings to his wife, who he expected would choose one or two rings and send the rest back. But the duraisani turned out to be a greedy lady and kept all the fifty rings and sent across a note of thanks for the gifts.

Regards
