When the farmer's wife first encounters Gulliver, she is terrified of him, however when she realises how polite he is, she warms up to him, and shows that she is a kind hearted woman. She offers Gulliver food, and also prepares a bed for him to sleep when he signals that he is tired. She comes across as a loving mother and a kind soul.
