nakoo is the main character of the story .he resided in the river shallows whose river bank  was ranji teams cricket pitch.unlike other crocodiles he was not a man eating crocodile .althogh  the children matches caused him inconvenience but he didn't harm them.ranji wants to be a cricketer and hates math.he seems to understand the greedy thoughts of nakkoo who hates crowd but loves the cork leathery combo of cricket ball which lodges between his back teeth
