character sketch of uncle podger in the lesson three men in a boat

Uncle Podger is one big fat person who does have any idea of his brain. He just messes things around and is really a waste of space. He takes responsibilites he can't control and ends up messing them. Because of this good for nothing lesson. I have to sit here and study this podger's podgerry.

A funny character carved out by the author, Uncle Podger is Js uncle. J believes that the habits of Harris and his uncle are quite similar.

Uncle Podger is a messy and forgetful being. Like Harris, Uncle Podger too takes charge of a task only to delegate it to people around him and later blame its failure on them. Uncle Podger engages everyone present in the house to get him things he required to hang a picture on the wall. He asks them to hold the chair, lift the picture, search for his coat etc. Though everybody runs from one corner to the other and follow his instructions, he still taunts them and shouts at them. Even for nailing a nail in the wall, he would take hours and still mess things up. Thus, his account in the book is highly amusing and one of the most memorable one. The description of commotion that he creates in the house in order to get a trivial task done is really funny.

Uncle Podger is very messy and forgetful. He takes up a lot of responsibilities on his shoulders. But, at the end of the day,he would mess it up always and after a long long time, he finally completes his promise. he thinks he is the only one who knows everything . he engages everyone in the house with one or the other thing n himself relaxes. the work that takes less than an hour when taken up by uncle podger takes a whole day n at the end at midnight would be done with everyone tired. His character resembles to Harris

J.'s accident-prone uncle, who is deceased. J. compares Harris to Uncle Podger because both of them have difficulty performing basic tasks without making mistakes.Uncle Podger was unable (or unwilling) to tackle a task alone. He would send everyone off to do his bidding, make a mess of things, and blame it on everyone else. Then it would start all over again, with everyone at his back and call. This would go on for quite awhile, and each time there would be a mistake, and each time someone else would step up to help. In the end, Uncle Podger would cite how easily things were done, and his wife would comment that she'd stay with her mother during the next project..... a comedy of errors.

Jerome was single and he spent his time with his dog, Montmoracy. He was a humorous man and love to joke around. He and his friends were advised by the doctor for a river trip in river Thames when he found himself a hospital. He and his friends enjoyed the trip and he relaxed himself. He was poetic and romantic even in tough situatuations as he kept on reciting poems at point of time. He was friendly. He was careless and lazy. He was hypochondriac. He found himself to be intelligent, hardworking and competent but he was tottaly opposite.
