character sketch of william douglas in deep water?
The chapter-'Deep Water' tells us that there is nothing one can not overcome. It shows two stages of the author's life- the first one when he was too afraid to even look at water because of an accident that had happened in his early childhood and had left a deep and damaging effect on his overall personality; and the second one, when he decides to overcome that fear and instead of constant pull downs, finally wins the battle against his biggest phobia. Thus, this story shows us that if we have the courage and determination to do something that is even fearful to us, there is nothing stopping us and at the end, it will be our hope that wins.
