Characters of bepin choudhurys lapse of memory 

Bepin Choudhury :

The first main character we come across in the story is Bepin Babu. Bepin Choudhury was an old man who had no children. He was at a responsible post in a reputed firm. He had a few friends. He was interested in reading books. He never wasted his time in idle chatting. He was an innocent man. He quickly got trapped in the prank played by his friend Chunilal. So much so that he eventually believed that he had lost his memory and might land in an asylum.

Chunilal :

Chunilal was Bepin Choudhury’s childhood friend. He was going through tough times financially. Hence, he was seeking help from his friend Bepin Babu. He wanted Bepin Babu to help him in finding employment. But Bepin Babu could not help him. In order to teach him a lesson and take revenge on him, Chunilal played a trick on Bepin Babu where the latter was tricked into believing that he had lost a significant part of his memory.

Parimal Ghose:

He addressed him as if he knew Bepin Babu. Bepin Babu did not recognize him. The man claimed to have seen Bepin Babu when he had visited Ranchi. But, Bepin Babu had never been to Ranchi. But the man knew many details about Bepin Babu and did not stop talking. 

​​​​​​Dinesh Mukerji:

He was Bepin Choudhury’s friend who the man said was there on the trip with him. He thought of visiting his friend. But he did not see him because he did not want to feel any embarrassment face to face.

Haridas:
He was  Bepin Choudhury’s friend. According to him, he was attending the Pujas in Kanpur and stayed at his friend Haridas’ residence.

Dr. Chanda:
He visits a physician whom he visited to discuss his case. However, his case was out of his area of experience and expertise. Regardless, he suggested Bepin Choudhury should visit Ranchi once again.​​​​​​​
