CHARACTERSKETCH OF EPPIE
Eppie is the daughter of Godfrey Cass and his first wife Molly. She was a girl who lived on her own without the acquaintance of her parents love as Godfrey had disclaimed both her and Molly. As Molly wanted to take revenge on Godfrey for his disclaim, she takes the child with her. Being an opium addict, she wanted to give in her last. She eventually fell in the snow and died. The toddler walked up into Silas cottage and was adopted by him.
Eppie used to be a trouble when silas was working. She is a very down to earth and understanding person. She fell in love with Aaron, Dolly's son, and wanted to marry him only with the consent of Silas. She had promised silas to keep and look after him after her marriage.
When Godfrey had came to claim for her as his daughter, she refused to go with him as she loved silas alot and wouldnt want to come anywhere without him. She found happiness with who and what she was even though it was not as a rich life style as the Cass family.
