Cite the reason behind Sophie's jealousy of her brother's silence?

Sophie had never been satisfied with the situation that life had put her into. While she was always dreaming about the new and exotic places she would visit, she suspected that her brother already had experienced some of them. She thought that Geoff's silence was an indication of the vast experience he had had - of places outside the city or in the broad country, of interesting people he had met and friends he had made. She was jealous that she was never to be a part of these experiences, not only because their father had forbidden it but also because Geoff himself thought her to be too young. She felt instinctively that the world outside was awaiting her arrival, ready to dazzle her with new experiences. She would visualise herself riding out with her brother in a yellow dress with a cape, but in reality she could not leave her dreary life. This made her jealous.
