Colourblindness is the defect of cone cells. So what if the rod cells are defected?

Hi Deepak!

The defect of rod cells causes night blindness. It is difficult or impossible to see at low light for person with night blindness.

Cheers!!

rod cells are used to sense intensity of light entering the eye. so if the rod cells are defected , the image will appear faint even if it is bright enough.
