concentric equipotential surfaces due to a charged body placed at the centre are shown .identify the polarity of the charge and draw the electric field lines due to it.

figure?
  • -6
polarity will be -ve.

Diagram!?

This is the q from sample paper 2016 by CBSE. As per anskey the charge is coming Negative but the values of potential are positive. Anyone clarify
  • 9
Potential due to a point charge is kq/r and therefore the charge must be positive inorder to have positive potential
  • -7
polarity will be +ve whereas charge will be -ve

  • -1
Polarity will be -ve (negative).

  • 3
Electric field is in the direction in which the potential decreases. According to the diagram the potential decreases inwards. Electric field is inwards. Therefore, the polarity of the charge is negative.
  • 8
Polarity will be negative as the potential decrease inwards and electric field is more inside so the polarity is negative
  • 14
@Shabnam, I have same doubt.
  • -2
Polarity will be negative as the potential decrease inwards and electric field is more inside so the polarity is negative
  • 0
Polarity will be negative as the potential decrease inwards and electric field is more inside so the polarity is negativ
  • -1
POLARITY IS NEGATIVE AND FIELD LINES ARE RADIALLY INWARDS
