Step (1) : Draw AB = 5 cm

Step (2) : Draw an angle of 90 degree on A.

Step (3) : Draw an angle 90 degree on B.

Step (4) : With A as centre radius 5 cm draw an arc cutting the perpendicular on A.

Step (5) : With B as centre radius 5 cm draw an arc cutting the perpendicular on B.

Step (6) : Join CD. 

and hence, ABCD is the required square.

To bisect it, join AC or BD. Thus, square bisect in two equal parts triangle ABC and triangle ADC.
