A kite is a quadrilateral in which two disjoint pairs of consecutive sides are congruent (disjoint pairs means that one side cant be used in both pairs).

Here A,Y,E,S are the vertices of the kite. SY is one of the diagonal. AY, EY, AS, ES are the sides of the kite.

Here being AY and EY different in length.

Hence AY= AS = 8cm and EY=ES =4cm
