Contrast the difference between bhangar and bhabar soil?

Dear student,

Bhangar is the old alluvium deposit found in northern plains. It is present in the form of a terrace like feature. The soil in this region consists of calcareous deposits known as kankar.

On the other hand, â€‹Bhabhar is a narrow belt covered with pebbles lying along the foot of Shiwaliks from the Indus to Tista. They are laid down by numerous stream descending down the hills. The pebbled beds are parallel to the slope of river - bed. This belt is about 8 - 16 km in width.

Hope these points will be helpful to you in understanding your query.
