Could you please explain the difference between hypertonic and hypotonic solution .It is very urgent.

Hypertonic solution is the one whose solute concentration is higher than the solute concentration inside the cell. When a cell is placed in a hypertonic solution, then water moves out of the cell through osmosis, leading to cell shrinking. 

 

A hypotonic solution is the one whose solute concentration is lower than the solute concentration inside the cell. When a cell is placed in a hypotonic solution, then water moves in the cell through osmosis, leading to swelling of cell which may result in cell bursting.
