KEY TERMS Aeration: It is a process by which air is pumped into wastewater so that aerobic bacteria can act on the waste matter. Wastewater Plant: It is a place where wastewater or sewage from the houses, buildings and industries is processed to remove impurities, before the water is discharged into the river or ground. Wastewater: It is the water that is thrown down the drain after using it for various household purposes like washing and cleaning including toilets of the houses and buildings.
