crowds die many times before their death the valiant face one.explain the reference to the story we are not afraid to die

Dear Student,

The famous line ‘Cowards die many times before their death, the valiant face one’ is from Shakespeare’s play Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar speaks this line to Calpurnia, his wife, when she requests him to stay at home because of an ominous dream.

However, these words of Caesar fit rightly for the characters of the story, ‘We aren’t Afraid to Die…’ In this story we see the narrator, Gordon Cook, facing the storm courageously. Had he not acted bravely, the boat, Wavewalker, would surely have sunk in the Southern Indian Ocean. Thus, Caesar’s statement seems to be true with reference to this story.
