culculate  the number of carbon atoms  present in 24 grams of methane?

Number of moles present in 24 g of methane -
= 24/16                 (atomic mass of Ch4 is 16 i.e 12+1*4=16)
=3/2 moles
1 mole = 6.022*1023
3/2 moles = 3*6.022*1023/2
= 3*3.011*1023 molecules of Ch4
now we have to find the total number of carbon atoms-
atomicity of C in Ch4 = 1
Therefore, the number of carbon atoms in 24 g of Ch4
= 1*3*3.011*1023
=9.033*1023
atoms of carbon.
I hope Krishana this will help you!!!
