Dear experts, plz help me to prepare for Declamation contest going to be in my school. The topics are 1. Stopping by woods on a snowy evening by Robert Frost and 2. Solitary Reaper by William Wordsworth. (STD: 7)

Dear student, the mentioned poems are available on the internet. Following are some tips for performing well in the declamation competition:

- At the outset, introduce yourself and mention your class and section.
- In one line, give the title of the poem and mention what the poem is about.
- The first thing you need to ensure is that you have learnt the poem very well: there is no excuse for forgetting any line/word on stage!
- Check the pronunciation of each word by consulting a dictionary and request the help of your English teacher too.
- Pay attention to voice modulation and enunciation.
- To grab the attention of the listeners, there must be variation in your tone and pitch.
- Facial expressions should match your tone; do not do too many gestures: hand movements two to three times in a short poem are enough.
