Dear Sir/Madam,

Why do we call Non-current asset,Non current lability , Non current Investment etc.? What is the meaning of non-current?

The word Non Current is used to imply Long Term. For eg. Non Current Assets (Long Term Assets), Non Current Liabilities (Long Term Liabilities), Non Current Investments (Long Term Investments).

Non Current Assets are those assets that cannot be easily converted into cash. For eg. all fixed assets are non current assets.

Non Current Liabilities are those obligations that are not be paid off during the current financial year. For eg. long term loans.

Non Current Investments are long term investments, the full value of which will not be realised within the accounting period.
