1. Pivot joint is the joint in the body which allows only partial movement. e.g, the joint between head and neck.
2. Hinge joints allow movement in one direction only i.e., to and fro movement. Knee and elbow joints are examples of hinge joints.
3. Ball and socket joint - It is the joint which is present in shoulders and hips and is meant for movement of limbs in all directions.
4. Gliding joint is a type of joint that allow sliding of one bone over other. This type of joint is seen in wrist of the hand.
