Define bill of lading. What information does it contain ?How is it different from Bill of Entry ?

Dear student,
Bill lading is an undertaking that is signed by the shipping company that it would transfer the goods to the destination port. I serves as a token that the goods have been put on board.

On the other hand, the bill of entry is a form as given by the customs office and filled by the importer after the receipt of the goods. It contains such information as name and address of the importer, name of the ship, description of goods, number of packages, etc.
