A laboratory thermometer is used to measure the temperature during various experiments. It can measure a wide range of temperature, typically from -10 0 C to 110 0 C. It is not used to measure the human body temperature.
A clinical thermometer is designed to measure the human body temperature only. It can measure temperature that lies between 32 0 C and 42 0 C. This thermometer cannot be used to measure the temperature of very hot or very cold bodies.
