define dear money policy and cheap money policy

Dear money policy is the policy in which real interest rate on the loans is increased so that the money supply can be controlled in the economy. Here, real interest rate implies market interest rate over the inflation rate prevailing in the economy.

Similarly, cheap money policy is the policy in which real interest rate on the loans is decreased so that the money supply in the economy can be increased.
