(i) Conjugated or compound lipids are the esters of glycerol with two saturated or unsaturated fatty acids along with some other compound like amino acid, protein, carbohydrate, etc.
(ii) Lipids are a broad group of naturally occurring molecules which include fats, waxes and sterols. They are organic molecules that are insoluble in water.

(1)conjugated lipids-the lipid contain groups in addition to fatty acid & alcohol
(2)simple lipids-they are lipids formed of fatty acid and alcohol without any additional group
(3)derived lipids-they are derivatives of lipid or lipid like substance such as steroids and sterol like cholestrol,lipid soluble vitamin(A,D,E,K),lipid soluble harmone,prostagladins etc.
